Meteotropic reactions in children and adolescents with atopic asthma

Meteotropic reactions in children and adolescents with atopic asthma in humans during evolution develop the ability to adapt to the constantly changing environment. For environmental factors affecting human values are weather and meteorological phenomena.

Go to meteorological variables include air temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and other atmospheric conditions. Under meteorological phenomena are considering fog, dust storms, tornadoes, and other changes in the atmosphere.

All kinds of reactions of the human impact on the above-mentioned variables and phenomena called meteotropic. The body's ability to respond to the impact of meteorological variables and phenomena development meteotropic reactions defined as meteosensitivity.

About the impact of weather conditions for a variety of diseases by numerous studies in this area. Causes of meteotropic reactions varied, but mostly, it's the contrast change of meteorological variables, changing the individual meteorological elements, changing heliogeophysical indicators (magnetic storms, atmospheric electricity.) Many researchers believe that the meteorological variables affect the human body apart.

It is established that a change in atmospheric pressure is a series of physiological changes leading pathogenetic link which is the baroreceptor response of skin to external stimuli. Temperature conditions significantly influence the processes of thermoregulation, metabolism, muscle and nerve activity, causing changes in biochemical and bioelectric processes in tissues and organs . great importance humidity and velocity of the wind. The action of the wind on the body mediated by a direct effect on the skin, contributing to its heating or cooling.

However, this depends on the level of relative humidity and air temperature. Some authors attribute the effect of weather factors and indicators of the partial pressure of oxygen in the ambient air. At the same time, there is evidence that the impact of solar disturbances and whole meteorological factors do not appear in isolation, but due to the simultaneous exposure on the body of the complex atmospheric physical (such as weather). Therefore, in order to properly assess the possible meteotropic reactions and their prevention all the different weather conditions and geophysical parameters are divided into medical types of weather. In the Russian classification used morphodynamical weather II Grigoriev et al, 1997.

All variety of weather conditions is considered the amount and dynamics of barikotsirkulyatsionnyh and elektrometeorologicheskih and heliogeophysical indicators. Weather types 1 and 2 are in meterologicheskom for favorable weather, types 3 and 4 - adverse weather. In addition to meteorological characteristics, diagnosed and predicted the trend weight of oxygen is investigated ionic composition of the atmosphere, the classification V.F.Ovcharova. Should be noted that in some cases the development of meteotropic reaction may not coincide with the development of adverse weather.

Therefore, a reaction occurs first visible changes in weather conditions, referred to as signal and the response, which appeared after changing the atmospheric and physical complex - trace.

There are two ways of meteotropic violations. The first is that the adverse weather changes cause the complex of specific and nonspecific changes in the body of people who do not have any acute and chronic diseases. The second way is that under the influence of weather changes are amplified or symptoms of disease or pathological processes that already exist in patients.

Found that weather factors directly affect the stereotype of neurohormonal mechanisms. Moreover, there are three options:

meteorological factors - receptor system - the central nervous system (autonomic centers) - peripheral parts of the autonomic nervous system - the organs and systems;

meteorological factors - receptor system - the hypothalamus - pituitary - adrenal cortex - the organs and systems;

meteorological factors - the internal environment (blood, lymph, cellular-molecular structures), organs and systems.

Direct effects of weather factors can significantly change: thermoregulatory, excretory, synthesizing, respiratory function of the skin, which in turn is reflected in the various systems of the body. Receptor function in relation to the mucous membranes meteofactors operate, causing the development of complex reflex reactions to thermal, mechanical and osmotic stimuli.

In the development of meteotropic reactions are three phases:

• clinical and physiological adaptation to the effects of atmospheric and physical factors

• increased sensitivity to sudden changes in the weather;

• disadaptative to the weather.

A number of researchers found that weather conditions cause an exacerbation of asthma in children.

We have performed in allergy department of Children's Health Research Center survey of 138 children and adolescents with asthma .. Among the children surveyed were 60% of boys and 40% girls. 77% of the patients were adolescents aged 10 to 17 years. When questioning children and adolescents 73% said the relationship of asthma exacerbations with changing weather conditions. However, correlation analysis showed a significant degree of meteozavisimosti only 31% of the patients.

A high correlation was exacerbations of asthma with air temperatures (at 0 degrees and minus 20 degrees Celsius), changes in relative humidity (less than 60% and more than 75%) and high atmospheric pressure (more than 750mm.rt.st.) . In 32% of asthma exacerbation was associated with an increase in atmospheric pressure in 29% - as the relative humidity of 64% - from changes in temperature. In 25% of patients had an exacerbation of asthma with a combination of the effects of different climatic factors.

Evaluation of the adequacy of basic therapy in meteodependent children and adolescents showed that children who receive preventive therapy courses kromonovoy acid or inhaled corticosteroids, are less influenced by climatic factors.
